Annadan
for those who deserve is considered to be a very sacred
act. The people who attend the camps travel from nearby
villeges and may not afford eating outside. Providing
food serves the purpose of offering prasad (food offered
to the devoted deity after the prayers) and people to
dine without spending money themselves. This act depends
on the funding status.
